The MMIA two-day program schedule includes a welcome orientation, lectures from IU scientists and engaging activities and an overnight stay at the Westin in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 23.

On Monday, February 24, attendees travel together to the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research on the Indiana University Indianapolis and IU School of Medicine campus located in downtown Indianapolis. There, they experience hands-on workstations that explore a variety of research lab-based experiments and methodologies with scientists at IU.

The planning committee is finalizing details. The official schedule will be sent to selected students in January. 

1. Apply to the MMIA Program (Deadline 11/8/24) 
   • Access the online application here
     
     
2. Ensure your teacher recommendation is received and completed (Deadline 11/8/24) 
   • Upon submission of your application, the teacher email you entered will be notified with a link to fill out a teacher recommendation form. This must be submitted along with the application by 11/8/24. If they do not receive this, please contact mmia@iu.edu.  
     
     
3. Await an acceptance or nonacceptance notification
   • During the week of 1/6/25, students and parents will be notified to the emails provided in the application whether you are accepted, denied or are one of the two chosen alternate students.
   • Two alternate students are chosen and asked to keep the dates of the program available in case we have a student drop out due to illness or an emergency. 

If accepted into the 2025 MMIA Program, please see these steps to confirm your attendance.

1. Submit the parent forms (Deadline 1/14/25)
   • Your parent will receive an email with a link to complete a form that will confirm your attendance to the program. The link will contain a form for the Assumption of Risk and Liability Release which also gives photo, audio and video consent. Once this form is completed, you and you parent should receive a confirmation email letting you know you are registered for the 2025 MMIA Program. 
     
     
2. Expect email communication with final program details 
   • By the first week in February, you will receive a schedule for the program, parking and drop off/pick up info, details about your roommate/group/chaperones, module case studies and other documents that you will want to thoroughly review before the program starts on Sunday.
