Medical Students Prepare for Summer of Learning in Kenya

A summer of personal and professional growth awaits four Indiana University School of Medicine students selected as Slemenda Scholars by the IU Center for Global Health Equity. Rising second-year students Madeline Cory, Om Dalal, Bethlehem Daniel and Ryan McArdle will travel to Eldoret, Kenya, to learn about every facet of the AMPATH partnership and complete a project with an IU faculty mentor.

Reflections on Radiology Training in Kenya


Morgan McLuckey is a current resident in her final year of training in the Department of Radiology at Indiana University. Through the AMPATH partnership, she traveled to Eldoret, Kenya, to work alongside physicians and residents in the Department of Radiology at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in January 2024. 

Slemenda Scholars Reunite in Kenya as Residents with Global Health Aspirations

In 2017, three Indiana University School of Medicine students spent the summer in Eldoret, Kenya, as Slemenda Scholars and this year ended up back in Eldoret at the same time by chance.

Andrea Conroy honored as 2023 Bailey K. Ashford Medalist 

In October 2023, Andrea Conroy, PhD, an assistant professor of pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine was honored with the prestigious Bailey K. Ashford Medal by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH). This accolade celebrates her distinguished contributions to the field of tropical medicine.
